Vemma Ambassador Colleen Filicetti believes in the power of goal setting. “When you have a goal, you have a mission.” She says her decision to build a Vemma business started with a love of the products and a goal to create a career that allowed her to stay involved with her children, the oldest of whom is now 19. “Once I made the decision, I just followed others who were successful. Three weeks after I started, Linda Proctor went to Convention, so I went to Convention. I did exactly what others did, and I saw success. As a Vemma Brand Partner, I can now show my daughters that I can be a mom and a businesswoman as well.”
Settling into a new career
Before starting her Vemma business, Colleen had always been a stay-at-home mom. “At first, there was some pushback from my family,” Colleen says. “That was definitely an obstacle in the beginning. But everyone can adapt.” She says the best thing about her Vemma business is the chance it gives her to help people change and enhance their lives. “I’ve seen new Brand Partners come in who couldn’t stand in front of an audience, and now they glow and have a powerful voice. It’s exciting to hear from them and to see them take financial control of their lives.* Someone in the YPR group said that this business is personal development with a compensation plan. For me, helping people is my favorite part of this business.”
Setting big goals
Colleen says that when she was growing up, her father (Bob Proctor) taught her to be very goal-oriented, a practice that she continues to this day. “My dad would have us write our own report card at the start of every school year. This way, we had a clear goal, and we did what it took to get whatever mark we set. I encourage Brand Partners to be goal-oriented and set goals. Not just any goals — they’ve got to be scary goals. You don’t have to know how you’re going to do it, you just need to know that you’re going to do it. And always have an accountability partner — someone you can share your goals with so you stay focused.”

Ambassador Colleen Filicetti’s Tips for Success
- Set aside time every day for your business, and focus on just that. Even if it’s just 30 minutes, it will get you further ahead than a few hours of doing five things at once.
- You’ve got to have goals, and they’ve got to be scary.
- Shift the focus away from yourself and onto your team.
- Every day, do one thing that’s productive for your business.
- Don’t let the “no’s” or the quitters deflate you. This isn’t their time. It will make way for new people who really want to put in the effort.
- Give out recognition to team members who are excelling. Many people who’ve been in corporate jobs for years have never had the kind of recognition they get with Vemma. Together, we can do magnificent things!
