If you had a peek into Vemma Star Presidential Kairrie McClain’s life before her network marketing career took off, you’d agree that she deserves every creature comfort her life is now steeped in. At 22, Kairrie was $25,000 in debt and barely scraping by on the $900 a month she earned leasing apartments. “Everyone said, declare bankruptcy. That’s your only option.” Instead, she launched a career in network marketing and paid off all her debts within a year.* Today, Kairrie’s one of the newest members of the Vemma Elite, having rapidly zipped through the ranks to Star Presidential since she joined in January.* “I love that with Vemma, the newest person has the same opportunity for wealth that I do. It wasn’t like this with my former company. With Vemma, we’re all helping each other out and changing lives. And as far as the products go… Verve Bold is just amazing!”
Getting a game plan
“During that time when I had so much debt, and no way to pay it off, I remember I had this moment of clarity one night,” Kairrie shares. “I was sitting on the floor of my one-bedroom apartment, I looked around and realized that everything in my apartment was either furniture my parents had given me or stuff from a garage sale. I asked myself, this is what I’ve worked so hard for? I have nothing to show for four years of hard work except all that debt.”” Kairrie made a decision right then to turn her life around. “”I didn’t know how to do it, so I talked to everyone I could who was making more money than I was.” One of these people happened to be Anthony Powell, a friend of her family.” When she told Anthony she was dead serious about joining and wanted to learn from him, he was a little hesitant. “”Anthony knew I initially started in network marketing at 18 and had already quit once, so he was honest with me about how hard I’’d have to work to get what I wanted. “He said, ‘’I'’m not going to chase you down, babysit you, or hound you to do the work.’ I said, ‘I’’m here and I’’ll do whatever it takes. Anthony was the first person who was willing to take a chance on me, and I owe him so much for that.””
Building an empire and shopping like a queen
Fast forward to now, and Kairrie has a wildly successful group all over the country that grows daily. “Being so young, and doing so well in this business, I went crazy at first, shopping like crazy. It was like, oh I love that dress! I have to get one … in every color. Shoes and purses are especially my thing. But luckily I had a mentor who sat me down early on and said, this has got to stop. What’s the difference between making $40,000 a month and $900 a month if you’re short of money at the end of every month?* You’ll end up right where you were before. It was a tough lesson for me to learn, but I really appreciate it now. I learned to be wise about what I spend and only spend what I’ve set aside for the month. I realized that I don’t always need the valet parking. Sometimes I have to wait to buy something I really want because I’m doing a promotion for my team. Yes, you can do amazing things you couldn’t do before, but you’ve got to learn moderation.”
Getting past the age barrier
Kairrie’s learned that you can grow your business quicker if you don’t let age become an issue. “When I started at 22, I used to tell everybody how old I was — you know, ‘I’m 25, and see how well I’ve done, and you can do it too.’ One day Anthony overheard me saying that and he told me, ‘You don’t need to bring up your age. Do you only want 20-somethings to join your team? That’s a really small percentage of the market.’ I realized he was right. I was limiting the growth of my team. In this business, it doesn’t matter how old you are, what matters is how you work. So I made it a goal to make age become a non-issue, and you know what? My business doubled and then tripled.”* Kairrie has massively successful people on her team in all age groups, from late teens up to people in their 80s. This is part of what keeps her motivated — these are people who have had layoffs and job loss, felt the pressure of mortgages, and struggled to keep afloat. The change you can help them make is enormous. “People ask me, how can you stay excited? Switching to a new company is like starting all over again, right? The answer is that I’m so passionate about helping people have the life I have that I can’t stand the thought of sitting down and letting 20 or 30 people stay stuck and miserable in their current situation. I know what that’s like — I remember what it felt like to have a low paying job at 22 and be $25k in debt. And I know how to help them.”

Kairrie’s Tips for Success
- Talk to 10 people a day about the business.
- Do 15-20 presentations every week.
- Whatever you do, do it massively and with intention. When I’d go out at 4 am to post signs advertising my business all over town, I’d do 400 at a time.
- Don’t worry about the people who end up quitting.
- Having a broke mentality leads you to blow everything you have. Be wise with your income, whether it’s $500 a month or $100,000 a month.*
- Spend 20-30 minutes a day on personal development. As your checks grow, you’ve got to grow with them or you won’t maintain them.
- Promotions are a big part of the business. Once you reach $10k/month, it’s time to really start investing in your people.*
- As your business grows, put money back into your business. Massively successful businesses require an investment.
- Trust your team. We trust Anthony and he’s proven himself to us over and over.
