“I’m a person who works extremely hard. I graduated high school with a class of eight people because of having to finish my senior year in summer school. I don’t come from a wealthy family; I know you have to work for what you have. But when I saw this, when I heard about the opportunity, I knew in my gut how big it could be. And it’s happening! My business has grown organically,” he says.
The moon’s the limit!
After hitting Diamond, his next achievement was becoming car qualified 87 days from the day of his enrollment. Long term, he says, “The moon’s the limit! I work every day on my business with Dennis, and I can clearly see the potential here. I can totally see myself being a top earner in the company.”
He’s not the type to focus on the obstacles. “I’m a very confident person,” Joey says. “From the beginning, I haven’t let much get to me. I’ve learned the importance of sorting through people to find the ones that share the same vision.”
Joey tells the story of a friend who’s stationed on a ship in the Middle East right now. Joey messaged him on Facebook®, started a dialogue with him, and was soon sending him a Builder Pack and getting him started with Vemma. “I have people from California to Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Finland, Germany, all over, working with me,” he says. “I’ve used Facebook and text messaging to keep in touch with them. I haven’t had to get on a plane yet!”
Constant contact makes the difference
“The ability to use technology has made this so much easier,” Joey says. “I stay in constant contact with my team. I send out group text messages, I’m always talking to someone, I use the Vemma app. It’s great.”
That’s not to say that Joey doesn’t understand the importance of face-to-face meetings. “We have meetings seven days a week,” he says. “People who come in, they’ve never heard of Vemma, never tried the product. I don’t call this an opportunity; I call it a life-changing project. I lay it out for them — tell them what’s possible and that we’re going to work together.”
He also finds himself getting better at something lots of people find terrifying: public speaking. “I was never comfortable getting up in front of people and talking,” Joey says. “Now I can address large groups of people, and I’m able to share my story at every meeting. And that’s how you build a business.”
Following the footsteps
The secret to his success? “I’ve been coachable and listened to my upline,” he says. “I keep my presentations short and sweet. I don’t claim to be a product expert, but I bring people in who help me with that. You don’t have to invent anything; you just need to follow in the footsteps of those already doing it in front of you.”
Joey has a busy few months ahead of him. He’s expecting a baby, and he’s confident he can reach Star Executive or higher before Convention in April.
“Although I have only been with Vemma a short time, I cannot imagine my life without it. I thank God that I was able to listen with an open mind to this opportunity and jump in with both feet. I have a powerful ‘Why’ with a baby on the way, but more importantly, I have a company, a team, and for the first time in my life, an unwavering confidence that I will reach my dreams — not only for myself, but for my son. I am thankful for the present, but I am even more excited for the future! I am ready to be part of an incredible purpose, changing lives for the better!”
